I am packing for a three day work trip and trying to make one small bag cover several meetings. The pieces I want to reuse are a grey jacket, navy trousers and comfortable shoes rather than several complete outfits. Choosing a few interchangeable tops is harder than expected, especially when I also want each outfit to feel different. To give my question some context, I have been looking into color analysis but I would rather test combinations with my actual clothes than buy everything in a suggested seasonal palette. Would a lighter shirt and a deeper knit make a useful pair, or should their tones stay fairly similar? I also need something for an informal dinner where I would prefer to reuse the jacket in a less formal way. If you were working with these pieces and limited luggage space, which two outfit decisions would you settle first?
