Before testing more makeup shades I am hoping to avoid another guess about my undertone. My phone photos look different in the kitchen than they do near a window. My simple plan is to use the same window and a plain neutral wall. I will also compare a plain white sheet and a soft gray cloth near my face. Rather than treating one image as proof I will note what stays consistent from one photo to the next. This skin undertone test camera made me remember that camera settings can influence the apparent tone. Only after the comparison will I compare a few base shades in the same daylight. If you have tried this, what which simple step matters most before comparing undertones? I know a camera cannot replace seeing real skin in changing light, and I am not expecting a perfect answer from one home experiment. My goal is simply to make the next store visit less confusing. Keeping a short record of conditions should also help me recognize when a surprising result is probably caused by lighting rather than my actual coloring.
