Next week I am attending a small exhibition opening, and I am unsure how dressed up the guests will be. My reliable starting point is a cream shirt with black trousers, which feels comfortable without requiring a new outfit. The question is how to add some personality without turning the outfit into something I would never normally wear. I have been using color analysis while trying to keep my attention on how the pieces combine rather than reaching a firm conclusion about my season. Would you add a muted blue scarf to these pieces, or let a textured bag provide the extra interest? There is a short walk involved, and I would like to keep my comfortable shoes and bring an extra evening layer. Which one detail would make these basics feel suitable for the opening without making the outfit difficult to wear?
